REQUEST YOUR SELECTIONA family rarely skis at one level, and we don't ask you to pretend otherwise. We choose the right instructor for your family, someone who adapts their teaching to each skier, so you can spend as much of the day together as possible.
When the gap is simply too wide, we organise the day differently, with separate sessions or a second instructor.
Patience is a speciality, not an afterthought
Teaching a nervous six-year-old their first turns and coaching a confident teenager call for different teaching skills. We choose instructors specifically for their experience and ability with children.
For the youngest skiers, a lesson often works best when it feels like play — and our instructors know when a game will do more for a child’s confidence than another explanation.
For families with a wider spread of ages and levels, we can coordinate several instructors across the day, so each skier is taught at their own level while the family can still come together for lunch on the mountain.
For children, the match matters just as much as it does for adults. Age, personality and confidence all play a part in choosing the right instructor, alongside ski level and experience. Tell us a little about your child, not just their skiing, and we’ll take it into account.
Whatever the age or level, the goal is the same: skiing should be a pleasure, not a test to pass.

What to know before you go
Children can start from around two to two and a half years old, as long as they’re agile, energetic and keen.
The shortest lesson is three hours. For the youngest skiers, that time is paced around them: the lift ride up to the beginner areas, a break along the way, and skiing in short, playful stretches.
Helmets are required for young children. They rarely hurt themselves on their own, but a collision with an adult skier can be serious.
Lessons are arranged around your dates once your instructor is confirmed. In most cases, your instructor meets you at your chalet or hotel in Val d’Isère or Tignes and helps everyone get kitted up before heading out — it’s all part of the service. For afternoon lessons, if you’re already skiing, we can meet wherever suits you best.
We can also arrange ski hire in advance with our partner shop in Val d’Isère, Killy Sport, where our guests receive a discount — or with a shop closer to your accommodation, if that’s more convenient.

Questions before you begin
What if my group has mixed levels?
Tell us the full range. We can arrange one instructor experienced in mixed-level teaching, or coordinate separate instructors so the group can spend as much of the day together as possible.
How does the matching process actually work?
You tell us your level, dates, group and what matters to you. We select the instructor from our network who best fits your request, check their availability, then come back to you with a proposal and put you in touch once your booking is confirmed.
Are your instructors qualified and insured?
Yes. Every instructor in our network holds the French State ski instructor qualification (Diplôme d'État) or a recognised equivalent, and our mountain guides are IFMGA-certified. All carry professional liability insurance in accordance with French regulations. It does not cover rescue costs, medical care, equipment or unused lift passes, so we strongly recommend taking out Carré neige insurance, available online or when you buy your lift pass.
